About David Luke
David Luke School Uniform has grown out of a small company that supplied childrenswear in the North West of England. A spark for inventiveness saw our founding partners David Burgess and Adrian Luke expand into the schoolwear market where they have innovated some of the most iconic products that children now count as uniform essentials. From the quirky Skort to blazers made from recycled plastic bottles, they have found ways of making the ordinary, extraordinary throughout their 38-year history.
Over the years, David Luke School Uniform has demonstrated a progressive and highly respected reputation for innovation in sustainability. They were the first in the industry to develop recycled polyester yarn from plastic bottles which they used to make blazers. In March 2020 they were awarded the Queen’s Award for Sustainable Development and also picked up the award for the most sustainable schoolwear brand in the UK at the annual Schoolwear Association Awards in 2019.
When you choose David Luke school uniform, you make a conscious decision to support the world around you. Making eco-uniform out of recycled polyester is their obsession but it doesn’t end there. They are members of the Ethical Trading Initiative and work with Eco Schools to ensure their support of sustainability is experienced by the people who matter most; the pupils!
