Pick Your Own Pumpkin
When: 24th -31st October (half-term) at Kenyon Hall Farm, Winwick Lane, Warrington WA3 7ED. Free admission with small charges applied to certain activities
Apparently picking your own pumpkin is a thing now so if you head down to Kenyon Farm in Warrington you can kickstart your Halloween preparations in a field full of orangey goodness. This year Farmer Tod has grown twice as many pumpkins and is promising lots of fun pumpkin themed activities for all the family, including; Carve your pumpkins with help from Winnie the Witch (under cover), eat from the delicious pumpkin themed menu (served in the cafe), listen to the story of Spookley the Square Pumpkin (under cover), pick your own pumpkin from Farmer Tod's pumpkin patch (subject to availability).
Always one step ahead of the crowds, Laura and family pootled on down this weekend and have reported back with their top pumpkin picking tips:
- Venture to the back of the field and you'll find an abundance of hidden pumpkins
- Mind the prickles!
- Go for a slightly green one if you want it to last until Halloween. Apparently they ripen off the vine. Who knew?
- Use one of the carts if you plan on picking a whoppa (they are rather heavy)
Our Kid says..."We feel autumnal just thinking about this cute day trip and reckon your little one's will blend into their surroundings perfectly in any of these Maxomorra designs."
